As an experienced supervisor I enjoy supporting counsellors and trainees
I hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision (Including Online and Telephone Working), recognised by the NCPS as Advanced Specialist Training and mapped to the BACP Supervision Competence Framework. This means I’m trained to offer safe, ethical and effective supervision whether you practise in person or online.
My Professional Approach
Working with you and the modality you practice is an essential part of both ethical and competent supervision. I offer a safe professional space both ‘in the room’, online and through ‘walk and talk’ to allow both personal and professional development. Clinical supervision allows for structured reflection on your practice, and encourages the development of skills, knowledge, awareness and ethical judgement, within a supportive relationship. Feedback is an essential part of the supervisory process.
In my Supervision practice, I utilise the seven-eyed model of Hawkins and Shohet as the foundation for our work. Together we explore your counselling practice through multiple lenses—including your client’s relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them. I place particular curiosity around how your client’s broader way of relating unfolds in your therapy sessions, what this means for you, and how this is mirrored within our supervision dynamic. It is with this that we can then gently explore and navigate any difficult terrain in your client work to establish new perspectives and ideas to take forward into your future work.
Throughout our work, I follow the BACP ethical framework to maintain a safe, ethical, and supportive supervision relationship, supporting you through challenging situations with care and respect. To further strengthen our ethical approach, I consult my highly experienced personal supervisor on a regular basis, which helps ensure the quality and integrity of our supervision. I recognise that supervision can bring up complex feelings, and I am here to support you every step of the way as we navigate these together.
